June 8, 2014: Last night was a roller-coaster, wasn't it? The thunderstorm delayed the start of the concert and then rain tried to dampen everyone's spirits, but by the time Darius Rucker was opening up his pipes with a rousing rendition of Wagon Wheel, the storm was in retreat. I think everyone at LP Field joined in with Darius, particularly on the line, "rock me mama like the wind and the rain, rock me mama like a south-bound train."
Then the rain stopped and the evening finished magnificently with sets by Florida Georgia Line and Keith Urban:

So about this fickle Nashville weather: BlueShoe was sending Tweets about the delay of the concert and will do so again this evening, if there are issues. The forecast right now for the evening is partly cloudy, but NO RAIN. If that should change, and there are any important weather announcements, please check BlueShoe's Twitter stream.
You can follow us on Twitter here: https://twitter.com/BlueShoe
(Last night, we were retweeting posts from the CMA regarding the concert delay.)

It's shaping up to be a grand finale tonight.

June 6, 2014: Pinch yourself—you're in Nashville now! What do you think?
The rain and dampness were a bit dispiriting during the daytime events yesterday. But what was lacking weather-wise during the day was made up for bountifully at LP Field last night. Not only did it NOT rain, a balmy breeze blew in as the night progressed and it was just lovely. And then there was the music. What a stunner of an evening. For those coming to CMA Fest for the first time, I think you see why it's such an addictive event. Once you get a taste of the talent you'll experience during the Festival, it's hard not to come back.
Tonight promises to be equally entertaining. Here's the lineup for LP Field:

The 2012 CMA Music Festival is history, and among all the stellar acts, Nashville's weather during the past week has to be singled out for a performance unparalleled in the last ten years.
