June 15, 2009: The Festival ended last night well after midnight with rousing performances by Miranda Lambert, Sugarland, and Kenny Chesney. Looking ahead to the 2010 Festival? Our package prices for 2010 will be posted in the next few weeks.
June 12, 2009: The CMA has confirmed that the concert tonight at LP Field will be begin at 7:30 p.m. rather than 8 p.m. and Kid Rock has been added to the lineup!
June 12, 2009: LP Field was rocking last night for the CMA Music Festival, even though there was a delay because of the second storm of the day that blew into Nashville. The fans hung out in the concourse until the all clear signal was given. They were rewarded for their wait: Darius Rucker, Dierks Bentley, and Brad Paisley delivered wonderful performances that didn't finish until after 2 a.m. For the final number, Brad brought Dierks back on to help him toast the occasion with a splendid rendition of "Alcohol."
June 11, 2009: In typical Tennessee fashion, the weather turned dramatic this morning—for a little while. A severe thunderstorm blew into town just in time to delay the opening of the CMA Music Festival. Gretchen Wilson was set to kick off the performances at Riverfront Park at 10 a.m., but the show was postponed due to the storm. Everything got back on track after a bucket or two of rain was dropped. According to news reports, the music began at Riverfront about 30 minutes later than scheduled.
June 7, 2009: The CMA has just announced that Kenny Chesney will be performing on Sunday, June 14 at LP Field. What a way to close the Festival!
June 6, 2009: Taking a stroll on Lower Broadway, we could tell that the pace is picking up as Nashville prepares for next week's Festival. At Mike's Ice Cream Fountain, however, it looked like a lazy summer day:

June 5, 2009: Big news! Alan Jackson is celebrating his 20th anniversary in the music business by doing a free show on Wed., June 10 at the Cadillac Ranch on Lower Broadway in downtown Nashville. The show is scheduled for 8 p.m.. There is limited admission (one source says the Cadillac Ranch can hold about 1000 people) so wristbands for the show will be issued starting at 4:30 p.m. that afternoon. The line will begin to form much earlier than 4:30, but it's hard to estimate just how early you'll have to be there in order to secure one of those free prized wristbands. See details here.
June 1, 2009: We've added a new page aimed at giving you helpful information on the CMA Music Festival 2009, including maps and music schedules.
May 30, 2009: Online sales of packages will end May 31, 2009 at midnight CST. If you are interested in a ticket/hotel package, hotels available are the Embassy Suites Opryland Airport and the Baymont Inn West. Seats are in the Lower Level in Section 135 (for the Embassy package and the 5-night Baymont package) or Section 133 (for the 3- night package at the Baymont). Upgrades to floor level seating is $20.00 additional per person: seats are in Section K, Row 40, Section F Row 3 or Section F Row 4. See virtual tour of LP Field.
May 20, 2009: If you'd like a preview of the lineup of exhibitors at the Greased Lightning Fan Fair Hall in the Convention Center, go here. Scroll down to see the list (at the very top Trace Adkins' Fan Club is listed in booth 501.) There is also a nicely-compiled site called Goin to CMA Fest 2009 that includes a list of Fan Club Parties and special events like the GAC Kickoff Breakfast. This site appears to be the work of a CMA Music Festival fan who is coming to the Festival for their second year.
May 19 , 2009: Three weeks and counting until the CMA Music Festival opens its stages. We're excited that Wynonna, along with a special appearance of the Judds, is part of the 2009 lineup.
April 15, 2009: Here's the initial lineup for the nightly concerts (just posted on the CMA Music Festival's website. A note about surprises: there is a Festival tradition of surprise performers that show up to perform at the nightly concerts with no prior announcement. Last year on Thursday night, Rascal Flatts was the big surprise and that was followed up on Friday night by the stellar appearance of Keith Urban.

March 11 , 2009: It's out! The first announcement of artists performing at the 2009 Festival was made today by the CMA in a press release you can read here. Fans of Reba and Trace are going to be pleased. More announcements will be following.
February 18, 2009: The CMA should be debuting the new website for the CMA Music Festival any day now. We'll post links when the site is up.
January 23, 2009: We heard from the CMA this week that their 2009 website for the CMA Music Festival will be launched in February. Also coming in February will be a first announcement of artists scheduled for the Festival. Here on BlueShoe we've made available today some great Section B row 33 seats on the floor (that's 33 rows from the stage). These Section B tickets go with a five-night package featuring a 2-room suite at the Guesthouse Inn Vanderbilt in midtown Nashville.
January 10, 2009: The question of the best location for seats at LP Field arouses spirited discussion among Festival aficionadoes. Some claim that if you're going to be on the floor, the only place to consider is the Gold Circle. Seats in the Gold, however, are hard to come by and even in the Gold, people tend to stand during most of the concert. Our personal favorite is the Lower Level on the west side of LP Field, particularly Section 134. People tend to sit in the Lower Level and we think the seats are more comfortable. Plus, you're in the shade in the early evening and you don't have the sun setting in your eyes. As of today, we have 13 seats remaining in Section 134. Our next best section is right next door in Section 133 and we do have plenty of seats there. To get a sense of LP Field and how the stage and seats are arranged, please visit our Virtual Tour.
January 9, 2009: Hello, everyone. We're beginning our six month countdown to the CMA Music Festival. Quite a few of you are calling to ask which artists are scheduled to perform. The CMA will release its first press announcement on the artists in late February or early March (last year the announcement came on March 3). So, if you buy tickets or a hotel/ticket package now are you buying a pig-in-a-poke? Not if you look at the history of the Festival and the past lineups of the tremendous talent that comes to Nashville to perform during this event. Look back at the 2008 list of artists to get a sense of just what the 4-day Festival offers.

Following the kickoff parade for the CMA Music Festival 2008, a block party was held on Lower Broadway. Photo taken Wed., June 8, 2008 at the Sommet Center.
