Nashville Symphony Puts on a Free Concert
A free community concert with Christopher Cross & the Nashville Symphony with conductors Giancarlo Guerrero and Albert-George Schram will be held this Friday, May 7, at 8 p.m. The concert will take place on Nashville's Public Square, located directly in front of the Metro Courthouse. Parking is free at Metro Courthouse/ Public Square Garage.

Frist Free Days
Admission to the Frist Center will be free through Sunday May 9 to offer respite from the events of recent days.

Free Vanderbilt Commodores/Louisville baseball game to raise funds for flood relief
The Commodores' baseball team will play Louisville next Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 6 p.m. at Hawkins Field and the remaining 1,300 tickets will be given away on a first-come first-served basis beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the VU athletics department ticket office. The team only asks that fans make donations in instead of paying the price for a ticket.

Country Music Hall of Fame Reopens
The Country Music Hall of Fame will be reopening it's doors today, Friday, May 7 at 9 a.m. The Historic RCA Studio B and Hatch Show Print also are open for business.

Music City Keep on Playin’ – A Benefit for Flood Relief
Brad Paisley, Lady Antebellum, Dierks Bentley, Rodney Atkins, and other stars will perform as part of the GAC Flood Relief Telethon. It will air live from the historic Ryman Auditorium Sunday, May 16, 2010 at 7 p.m. Central.

Pop star Ke$sha To Play Benefit Concert
Ke$sha, a party-pop star and Nashville native will put on a benefit concert June 16, 2010 at Limelight with 100 percent of the profits going to relief for those affected by the flood.

Many local bars and music venues will be putting on shows to help flood relief
Sunset Grill (2001 Belcourt Ave., 386-3663) is donating 20 percent of proceeds from their Mother's Day Brunch on Sunday to The Community Foundation's Flood Relief Fund.
Provence Breads & Cafe (1705 21st Ave. S., 386-0363) will donate 25 percent of sales from their new made-to-order Sunday brunch at the Hillsboro Village location to the Community Foundation for flood relief.
At Otter's Chicken Tenders restaurants (1528 Demonbreun St., 507 Main St., 790 Jordan Road), mention the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee's telethon and 10 percent of your tab will be donated to flood relief efforts.
At mAmbu restaurant (1806 Hayes St., 329-1293), 15 percent of food sales this week will go toward the Community Foundation's flood-relief efforts. |
