Looking Back at 2007

June 5, 2007: For country music lovers, Christmas Eve is tomorrow--the night before the CMA Music Festival for 2007 begins. Nashville weather is shaping up splendidly for the outdoor concerts: hot, yes, but amazingly low humidity.
June 1, 2007: On a last minute search for downtown hotels for the Festival? We have one room available at the Holiday Inn Express on Broadway and two at the five-star Hermitage Hotel (both within walking distance of the music venues). Call for details: 615-383-3012.
May 26, 2007: Only 12 days to go and you're getting ready for the Festival. You probably have a question about something--maybe you're wondering if you can bring a cooler full of cold ones into Riverfront Park where the daytime concerts are, or you want the lowdown on how to get tickets for the autograph sessions. One of the best places to find answers to your questions is the CMA Music Festival's official web site. They have an FAQ page that will cover a range of topics. So, go there first: Frequently Asked Questions.
BlueShoe's own helpful hint: it will likely be HOT in Nashville during the Festival so bring a hat and sunscreen and drink plenty of water during the day. It may also RAIN (great booming thunderstorms may roll into town in the afternoon and drop frog-strangling amounts of water). Umbrellas are NOT permitted in the music venues, so pack a rain poncho.
May 19, 2007: We do indeed have hotel/ticket packages for the biggest country music event of the year, including a single room left at the Holiday Inn Express downtown. Call 615-383-3012 or toll free 877-201-7663 for more information. See our current package inventory.
May 17, 2007: We've heard from an inside source-although it is not official from the CMA--that the stage configuration for the nightly concerts at LP Field will be dramatically altered this year. Rather than the traditional two-stage setup (with stages adjacent to one another), there will be one large stage and it will REVOLVE. That means the next act will be setting up behind the scenes while the current act is performing. Cool, wouldn't you say? What the revolving stage means for ticket holders is obvious: the action will not alternate from the east stage to the west and back again. It will be centered for everyone's benefit.
March 10, 2007 The 2007 Festival is shaping up to be great. Among the artists scheduled to appear are Alan Jackson, Dierks Bentley, Reba McIntire, Trace Adkins, Sugarland, Carrie Underwood, Big and Rich, Gretchen Wilson, Vince Gill, LeAnn Rimes, Jason Aldean, Chris Young, Martina McBride, Little Big Town, the Oak Ridge Boys, The Wreckers, Pam Tillis, The Grascals, Blue Country, Josh Gracin, Julie Roberts, and more. To see the press releases thus far published by the CMA, go here.
[Feb. 26, 2007] Do you know what the Southern definition of a true music lover is? It's a man who, if he hears a woman singing in the shower, puts his ear to the keyhole.
[Feb. 18, 2007] Despite the snow and cold weather currently socking Nashville, spring is coming and when the warm weather and sunshine arrive, the Festival is not far behind. It's not too early to book your hotel/ticket package for the June 7-11, 2007 Festival.
